FASHION | how to co-ordinate accessories and coats

AHHHH winter has arrived! And with the new crisp weather comes some of my favourite fashion - coats!

Recently I went on a shopping trip to Bristol and walked away with three new coats and I am in LOVE with all three of them. I love matching my accessories with the colour of my coat, and I wanted to show you how easy it can be! I never like to wear too many matching pieces with my coats as it can look over powering, so I tend to opt for one matching piece and it just works!

My grey coat from Primark matches perfectly with my grey ankle boots. This subtle matching pair make an outfit look simple but casual. I love this coat as it wraps around and has very deep pockets. I also think wearing a roll neck/turtle neck suits this kind of collar perfectly as it sits in the gap of the large collar (this particular jumper is from New Look). I originally bought this grey coat to replace my camel coat (seen in this post) but I love having a different colour option now.

And here I am at one with nature! Yellow, well, what can I say about yellow?! Every autumn I HAVE to get something yellow as it is my autumn colour. Although it is a summery colour, I tend to only wear it during the colder months as I feel it lightens my outfit up. This gorgeous coat is from New Look and was such a find! I had already purchased my grey and red coats but as soon as I saw this I fell in love! Paired with my wonderful scarf from Accessorize it is the perfect combination to brighten up a darker day. This scarf is wonderful as it can be wrapped around several times to warm you up, or it can hang low like this. This coat has a higher collar at the back, so tucking in a scarf won't detract from that feature!

This has to be my favourite combination. When I posted this picture on Twitter, Primark replied and said I was the classiest Mrs Clause they had seen! The red leather gloves are now a staple in my winter wardrobe, and keep my hands so warm on those cold mornings walking to work! This bag is also now a staple in my wardrobe as it is huuuuuuge so I can fit all the things I do not need in it! This red coat was one I was unsure on getting as I thought it would clash with my hair, but it actually works very well! My hair is not a bright red, it is usually a deep red/auburn colour, so having a bright red coat makes it look lighter and they really compliment each other.

Do you have any favourite autumn/winter pieces?
